Originally from Cavan, Niamh moved to Dublin to study in UCD, where she graduated as a Veterinary Nurse in 2020. Throughout her studies she was trained in the care of small, large and exotic animals, but quickly realised her passion for looking after companion animals.
Following her graduation, she began working in several clinics in south Dublin as both a full time and a locum nurse. She spent some time travelling Europe and Asia before eagerly joining the team at Anicare at the end of 2022.
She loves being part of the supportive team here, who have already helped her gain confidence in her skills and provide her with valuable experience.
Her favourite part about working as a small animal nurse is learning about clients' relationships with their very loved furry family members. Her passion and job satisfaction comes from seeing their tails wagging and hearing their purrs when they are reunited with their owner after nursing them back to health.
When she is not looking after your furry friends, she enjoys going for walks along the canal, meeting her friends and has taken up pottery to explore her creativity.
